Written estimates are subject to 30 days. An estimate not accepted within 30 days may be changed due to paper and supply increases. All prices are given within an estimate are net price and excluding VAT.
2. Accuracy of Specifications
Quotations are based on the accuracy of the specifications provided. Visual Print can re-quote a job at the time of submission if the artwork does not conform to the information on which the original estimate was based. Orders placed with Visual Print are to the client’s knowledge are correct, and there are no conditions or agreements relating to the order which are not written or accompanying said order.
Client alterations must be specified in writing and must include all corrections or changes from the original specifications. Such work will be charged at our current rates.
4. Prepress Proofs
When requested by the customer, Visual Print will submit colour proofs for the customer’s review and approval. First hi res proof is generally included within price unless stated on quotation. Proofs may be returned or collected by Visual Print and must be signed by the customer. Until the proof is returned, no additional work will be performed and Visual Print will not be responsible for undetected production errors if:
Proofs are waived by the client
Requests for changes are communicated verbally
5. Colour Proofing
Due to differences in equipment, paper, inks, and other conditions between colour proofing and production pressroom operations, a “pleasing colour” variation between colour proofs and the completed job [as determined by generally accepted trade technical methods] is to be expected. When such a variation occurs, it will be considered acceptable performance.
6. Inkjet Proofs
Inkjet and laser prints are known to look substantially different than offset printing. We offer quick turnaround and low prices by printing to a “pleasing colour” standard, using standard ink densities. There is no guarantee that your finished piece will match your printed sample. This is due to the varying results from different output devices including inkjet printers, continuous tone proofing devices, and film-based proofs. However we will endeavour to match previously printed products if supplied by customer.
7. Overruns/Under runs
Visual Print will normally deliver the exact quantity of goods ordered plus a small additional amount. There is no extra charge for the additional amount. The generally accepted printing trade practice is plus or minus 10%.
8. Payment Terms
First three orders to be pre paid unless otherwise stated. Credit terms may be arranged on a 30 day basis. Visual Print reserve the right to charge interest on payments which are overdue in accordance with the late Payment of Commercial Debts (interest) Act 1998.
Visual Print reserves the right to use its sole discretion in refusing to print anything it deems improper or known to be illegal. Visual Print is not liable for any damages resulting from unwitting violation of copyright laws or illegal use of trade names or slogans. The client guarantees the legal title of all matter submitted to visual print for printing and/or publication.
As all services and products provided are bespoke and to a customers specification cancelled orders require compensation for incurred costs and related obligations at the time of cancellation. You may not cancel a job that has been approved for production. If a job is cancelled after proofing but prior to production a minimum charge of 50% of total order will applied.
11. Refunds and Return
Claims for defects, damages, or shortages must be made by the client in writing no later than 48 Hours after delivery. If no such claim is made, Visual Print and the client will understand that the goods have been accepted. By accepting the goods, the client acknowledges that Visual Prints performance has fully satisfied all terms, conditions and specifications.
Visual Print reserve the right to resolve any quality issues prior to a refund being made. If a customer is unhappy with the goods received they must return the goods within 5 working days, whereupon they will be inspected by our Quality Control Manager. Refunds will only be given if the products our quality inspection and is not commercially acceptable.
12. Turnaround Guarantee
Visual Print will supply a turnaround time on request for quotation
Goods will be dispatched via courier and delivery charges will be weight dependant. Visual Print is not responsible for delays and/or damage incurred during shipping. Title for finished work passes to the customer upon delivery to the carrier at shipping point; or upon mailing of invoices for the finished work or its segments, whichever comes first. Visual Print will delivery to Mainland UK only.
Visual Prints liability shall be limited to the stated selling price to the customer of any defective goods, and shall in no event include special, consequential, incidental, indirect or similar damages, including without limitation, lost profits. Visual Print warrants that every product manufactured by it meets industry standard for such product and is free of any material defect in workmanship.
The customer represents that it has the legal right to produce all printed materials ordered from Visual Print. In the event that a charge, claim or demand, or arbitration, action or proceeding (collectively, a “Claim”) is made or commenced against Visual Print based upon, relating to or arising from the alleged wrongful acts of the customers, or alleging that the printing performed or product produced by Visual Print ordered by the customer: (a.) infringes any copyright, patent or other proprietary right of any person; or (b.) contains matter that is libellous, slanderous, defamatory, scandalous or obscene, the customer shall indemnify and hold Visual Print harmless from and against any loss, damages, cost and expense arising from or related to the Claim including without limitation; (1.) defending Visual Print against any such Claim (2.) paying any judgment or award against the customer.
16. Electronic Manuscripts/Images
It is the client’s responsibility to maintain a copy of the original computer files, artwork and transparencies. Visual Print is not responsible for accidental loss or damage to media supplied by the client or for errors on supplied artwork furnished by the client. Until Visual Print can evaluate digital input, no claims or promises are made about our ability to work with jobs submitted in digital format, and no liability is assumed for problems that may arise. Any additional translating, editing, or programming needed to utilize client-supplied files will be charged at our current rates. Visual Print does not archive your work for longer than it takes to produce the final product unless requested. Please save your work!
17. Right to Subcontract
Visual Print shall have the right to assign any portion of the work required to another contractor if required. All Visual Print subcontractors are approved through stringent process and must be FSC Certified and work to ISO Quality Standards.
Visual Print may use your product for samples or advertising purposes
19. Environmental Commitment
At Visual Print we are passionate about the environment. We have committed ourselves to a programme for change and work together with our suppliers to make our carbon footprint ever smaller and to operate in an environmentally friendly way. We strive to ensure that every aspect of our supply chain meets with the exacting standard of our environmental policy and we spend much of our time thinking about ways we can reduce the impact of our activities. A copy of our environmental or FSC Statement is available on request.
20. Privacy Statement
Any personal information Visual Print collects from order processing or from any inquiries is not shared with any other company. Your personal information is only used for contact, billing, and shipping purposes. Visual Print will at no time store any financial details of its customers.
Visual Print may change, modify, add or remove portions of this policy at any time, and any changes will become effective immediately upon being posted unless otherwise stated. This policy was updated on 20/04/2010.
