Visual Print and Design chooses Young Minds as their Christmas Charity
We believe that it is our role as a business to offer up our time and resources when we can to help the community. That’s why each December, we donate 5% of our profits from the month to a charity chosen by the team.
This year, we’ve chosen YoungMinds which is a charity very close to our hearts.
It is estimated that mental health impacts 1 in 10 children and young people and this year has been particular harder on people’s emotional wellbeing.
We live in a country where:
- The number of young people presenting at A&E with urgent mental health needs has tripled in the last ten years
- A quarter of young women have a diagnosable mental health problem
- Suicide is the single biggest killer of boys and young men.
But these figures do not yet factor in the devastating impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
The crisis in young people’s mental health is well publicised but behind each and every one of these statistics is a real life – a young person who urgently needs help. Far, far too often, these young people are simply not getting that help. And for many, it is already too late.
Through the great work currently being done by YoungMinds, they are changing this and our donation will go to raising vital funds and improving awareness of the importance of young people’s mental health.
